WEEE, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Further law to be introduced by the EU - well they need to do something to justify their expensive existence - it is the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive (WEEE).
"After numerous delays, the UK government announced in late July that it plans to transpose the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive into law in December 2006 and implement its provisions on July 1st 2007. The directive requires manufacturers of household electronic equipment, including IT and telecoms equipment, to meet the cost of collecting and recycling old goods."
